Relax with the whole family at this newly-renovated, peaceful cottage and garden in the centre of Tasmania. With space for six, you will have the entire cottage to yourselves as well as the large adjoining private yard.
The self-contained primary bedroom suite exudes comfort with split-system AC as well as underfloor heating throughout the bedroom, office, and bathroom. The king bed faces a handcrafted stained glass window - one of several unique features of the property - and a large closet and dresser enable you to settle in for trips of any length. Connecting the bedroom to the bathroom is a multi-purpose room equipped with yoga gear, reading materials, work stations, and a spare monitor, keyboard and mouse for those who are working remotely.
Two additional bedrooms are found in the loft, accessed via a custom-designed spiral staircase. While the loft is suitable for four guests of any age, the stairs require care for those who are less nimble. Young children in particular love the loft and having a private space to play.
On the ground level, a spacious open lounge serves as the central area for unwinding and socialising. It features a four-metre bench seat beneath stained glass windows, across from which are comfy armchairs, bookshelves, and a wood-burning fireplace. Several stacks of books about Tasmania and Australia are provided along with a record player, smart tv, guitar, children's books, and a selection of family friendly board games. Split system AC and heating keeps the open living area comfortable year round.
Our contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare home-cooked meals - plus a Nespresso machine to get your morning started. There's dining space for six in the sunroom, with custom, locally-crafted Tasmanian myrtle tables affording each person a view of the rose trees and surrounding yard and gardens.
The large lawn seen from the sunroom is fully fenced in for your private use, and we've provided lawn games, picnic gear, and an outdoor dining table to help you enjoy the green space.
We can't wait to host you! Once you've booked we will share recommended shops, restaurants, activities and travel tips to help you make the most of your stay.

As a lover of repurposed architecture, Haven owner and host Matt Collins is particularly drawn to the beauty of historic churches, and spent years seeking an opportunity to give an old church a new life. When he discovered Brickhill Memorial Church on "Churches for Sale Australia" - a Facebook group of more than 100,000 members - he knew he'd finally found the perfect one.
Matt spends many evenings pondering ways to improve the guest experience, as well as managing the ongoing maintenance and restoration work involved in caretaking a heritage site. Helping guests enjoy the culture and history of Haven on High, Campbell Town, and Tasmania is Matt's greatest joy and accomplishment.
